The Carteret group, also known as Tulun, is located 100 kilometres northeast of Buka Township. The group comprises of six small islands surrounding a lagoon. These islands are only 1–2 meters above sea level with a total land area of 80 hectares. They have mainly sandy soils and produce coco nuts and other tree crops.
